Brain-injured child
Rob served as co-counsel in a federal lawsuit against two major hospitals, various doctors and two other health care entities. As asserted in the Complaint, the child was born prematurely as a direct result of the failure to properly treat the mother during the final stages of her pregnancy. The child had cerebral palsy, and the estimated lost earning capacity and monies needed to care for him for the remainder of his life were between 10 and 11.8 million dollars. In order to document the client's damages, Rob retained 7 different experts from around the country in medical fields ranging from pediatric neurology to life care planning. After battling 3 defense firms for over 3 years, the case settled for a confidential amount at mediation, and Rob helped establish a special needs trust for the child.

Mishandled trust for quadriplegic
Rob represented a quadriplegic who deposited over 1 million dollars with the trust department of one of the largest banks in the United States. Although the bank was charged with watching over the account and properly approving the expenditures to care for the client's severe spinal cord injury, the trust monies were negligently depleted. Rob brought suit against the bank for breach of fiduciary duty and other causes of action. The bank eventually agreed to settle the case against them prior to trial.
